Pete's Pickup
As part of our corporate giving, and our mission to keep good material out of landfills, Pete’s
Pick-up has established a program to give reusable items such as mattresses and furniture
back to the community, especially to individuals who are most in need. We are not a non-profit
organization. This program is funded entirely by Pete’s Pick-Up, and the small administration fee
that we charge when individuals use our furniture bank.
There are two ways to qualify:
1. Receive a valid furniture voucher issued by a social service organization or a non-profit
charity that we partner with. (Each agency has its own expectations and requirements for
clients and referrals).
2. Contact a Pete’s Pick-up administrator to assess your needs.
a. Candidates such as those who qualify for food bank assistance through the Blue
Ridge Area Food Bank or MACAA, and those who have experienced a recent
crisis, such as a home fire, may qualify.
b. Pete’s Pick-Up reserves the right to determine client eligibility at their sole
discretion.
Furniture pick-up and assessment is by appointment only. Email info@petespickup.com or call
434-962-2003 to schedule.
The furniture an individual or family will receive is based upon individual circumstances and
current inventory. Pete’s Pick-Up reserves the right to determine what items are released.
Individuals who receive furniture will be charged a $25 administration fee per service
appointment. This fee helps cover the costs of operating the furniture bank. This fee can be
waived in crisis situations. Pete’s Pick-Up reserves the right to determine client eligibility at their
sole discretion.
We encourage individuals receiving furniture to have transportation and loading assistance
present at the time of the appointment. If a subsequent appointment is made, an additional $25
service fee will apply.
If the recipient does not have transportation, delivery can be scheduled for an additional fee.
